Brent Benson is a physicist turned sailmaker who designs and builds fast sails using a combination of aerodynamics, three-dimensional geometry/trigonometry, experimental methods with on-the-water testing, in combination with an innovative photography system.

He makes fine sails for a variety of boat types up to 28 feet including:

One-design racing sails

Advanced aerodynamic design and durable construction

Gaff, lug, Gunter, sprit, lateen, etc., rig sails for traditional and sailor-built boats

Fast sail shape for traditional craft, made from a variety of cloth types

Cruising sails

Designed for speed, safety, durability and ease of handling

Recuts, adjustments and repairs for all sails

Racing and cruising lifetimes can often be extended by a timely recut, and even new sails from other lofts may need adjustments for optimum speed
